Ring-o-Rosie.

Parnell District School is one of Auckland’s oldest and most beautifully-situated primary schools, and it was in change-mode. We thoroughly enjoyed the learning process of Dow Lab-ing the staff’s vision for the future of the school, involving the kids in conceptualising, and working the concepts through a school board signoff process. This is a project where many hats are a part of the ring, to ring in change that everyone feels on board with. The result: Moving from the ubiquitous Rangitoto symbol (that at least 12 other Auckland schools use) to an unfurling koru, cradled in the arms of community, symbolising the school’s vision of growing great humans, while nodding to Parnell’s own landmark: the famous rose gardens down the road from the school.
